STATEMENT OF THE ACTIVE SUBSTANCE (S) AND OTHER INGREDIENTS
1 ml of solution for injection contains:
Active substance:
Ivermectin 10mg
Excipients
Glicerol formal 486 mg
Propylene glycol ad 1 ml

INDICATIONS
Ivermectin is effective in treatment of following parasitic infections of cattle:

  • Gastrointestinal nematodes (adult and L4)
  • Ostertagia ostertagi including inhibited forms
  • O. lyrata,
  • Haemonchus placei,
  • Trichostrongylus axei,
  • T. colubriformis
  • Cooperia oncophora,
  • C. punctata,
  • C. pectinata
  • Oesophagostomum radiatum
  • Nematodirus helvetianus
  • N. spathiger
  • Bunostomum phlebotomum
  • Lung parasites (adult and L4 ):
  • Dictyocaulus viviparus,

Ectoparasites:

  • Hypoderma bovis
  • Hypoderma lineatum
  • Psoroptes bovis
  • Sarcoptes scabei var. bovis
  • Linognathus vituli
  • Haematopinus eurysternus
  • Solenopotes capillatus

Medimectin is indicated for treatment and control of following endo and ectoparasitic infections in swine:

  • Ascaris suum
  • Oesophagostomum spp.
  • Hyostrongylus rubidus
  • Strongyloides ransomi (adultni oblici i somatske larve)
  • Trichuris suis
  • Lungworms
  • Metastrongylus spp. (adultni)
  • Ectoparasites
  • Sarcoptes scabei var. suis
  • Haematopinus suis

Medimectin is indicated in treatment and control of following endo and ectoparasitic infections of sheep :

  • Gastrointestinal nematodes (adult and IV stage larvae):
  • Ostertagia circumcincta (including inhibited O. circumcincta)
  • O. trifurcata
  • Haemonchus contortus (including inhibited H. contortus)
  • Trichostrongylus axei (adult)
  • Trichostrongylus colubriformis
  • Trichostrongylus vitrinus (adult)
  • Cooperia curticei
  • Oesophagostomum columbianum
  • Oesophagostomum venulosum (adult)
  • Nematodirus filicollis
  • Chabertia ovina
  • Trichuris ovis (adult)
  • Lungworms
  • Dictyocaulus filaria (adult and fourth-stage larvae)
  • Protostrongylus rufescens (adult)
  • Ectoparasites
  • Oestrus ovis (immature forms
  • Psoroptes ovis (both, immature and adult forms)
  • Treatment and control of mange due to Psoroptes ovis, requires two injections in a seven-day
  • interval.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not administer this VMP intravenously or intramuscularly.
Do not use this VMP in non target species of animals. Ivermectin may be fatal in certain dog breeds (collie, old english sheepdog, mongrels).

ADVERSE REACTIONS
Temporary discomfort and painful local reactions are possible at the injection site
TARGET SPECIES
Cattle, sheep and pigs.
DOSAGE FOR EACH SPECIES, ROUTES AND METHOD OF ADMINSITRATION
MEDIMECTIN is administered only subcutaneously. Recommended therapeutic dose of ivermectin for cattle and sheep is 200 μg/kg body weight. The application area in cattle is in front of or behind
the shoulder, whereas in sheep it is the neck. The recommended dose of ivermectin for pigs is 300μg / kg b.w. The drug is administered only subcutaneously in the neck.

For cattle of over 400 kg body mass the dose is 1ml/50kg b.w. For sheep of over 100kg body mass the dose is 0.5ml/25kg b.w. For pig of over 200kg body weight the dose is 1ml/33kg b.w.

ADVICE ON CORRECT ADMINISTRATION
Fill the syringe directly from a vial with using a completely dry needle. This VMP contains no antimicrobial preservative and care should be taken to avoid the contamination during penetrating the rubber stopper with a needle.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD
Cattle meat: 35 days
Do not use in cows whose milk is intended for human consumption.
Do not use in pregnant cows and heifers, starting from the 60th-the day before calving.
Sheep meat: 42 days
Do not use in sheep whose milk is intended for human consumption.
Pigs meat: 28 days
