Active substance: Ketoprofen 100 mg
Excipients: Benzyl alcohol 10 mg, L-arginine, citric acid monohydrate and water for injections.
Mediprofen contains a non steroidal antiinflamatory ketoporfen drug with pronounced antiinflamatory, antyipyretic and analgesic effects. cattle, as an adjuvant therapy of puerparal paresis, hyperthermia due to bacterial infections of the respiratory tract (along with appropriate antimicrobial therapy), adjuvant therapy of acute clinical mastitis, including the endotoxic mastitis in combination with antimicrobial drugs, pain relief and edema of the udder after calving Pigs ketoprofen alleviates hyperpyrexia and respiratory disorders, due to bacterial or viral infections of the respiratory system, in conjunction with antimicrobial therapy. It is used also in supportive therapy of MMA syndrome along with appropriate antimicrobial therapy.
Do not use in cattle and pigs with previously demonstrated hypersensitivity to ketoprofen.
Do not administer other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) concomitantly or 24 hours before /after the application of a Mediprofen.
Do not use in animals with impaired function of heart, liver or kidney, and in those with suspected gastrointestinal ulceration and bleeding.
Do not use in animals with a history of blood dyscrasia and known hypersensitivity to ketoprofen.
The drug should not be used in dehydrated, hypovolaemic or hypotensive animals, because it might increase the risk of nephrotoxicity.
As with other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, ketoprofen can cause gastric and renal intolerance as a result of inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in some animals. Allergic reactions are extremely rare but possible and if occurred, the therapy should be discontinued. Local irritation at the injection site is possible after intramuscular administration of the drug.
Cattle and pigs.
Cattle: The recommended dose of ketoprofen is 3mg / kg body weight, or 1 ml of Mediprofen per 33kg body weight, as a deep intramuscular injection, once a day for three days.
Pigs: The recommended dose of ketoprofen is 3mg / kg body weight or 1 ml of Mediprofen per 33kg body weight, as a deep intramuscular injection, Single daily for three days.
Take care to avoid intraarterial application. Do not exceed the recommended dose and duration of therapy. Administer maximum 10ml of the drug per injection site. Use of this drug in animals less than 6 weeks or in very old animals may result in additional risk of causing adverse effects. If the application of the drug is still necessary, reduce the dose and carefully monitor the patient
