Amounts to be administered and administration route
Poultry: 50-100 mg oxytetracycline / kg b.w. (equivalent to 12.5-25 g of OTC VP 40% oral powder per 100 kg bw or 500 g of OTC VP 40% oral powder / 1000 L drinking water), for 5-7 days.
Calves: the recommended daily dose is 20 mg oxytetracycline / kg bw. or 5 g of oral powder OTC VP 40% per 100 kg bw, divided into two doses, for 5-7 days.
Pigs: The recommended daily dose is 20-30 mg of oxytetracycline / kg bw, or 5g - 7.5 g of OTC VP 40% oral powder per 100 kg bw, divided into two doses, for 5-7 days.
Fish: 20 g of oral powder (eq. 8 g of oxytetracycline) per 100 kg of fish, for 4 days. If necessary, continue the therapy for another 4 days if the death does not stop.
The medicine should be dissolved in a small amount of drinking water, and then mixed with the total predicted amount of water. Do not expose the drug solution prepared in this way to sunlight.
Prepare a fresh solution daily. Do not mix with milk or milk substitutes.
Fish: Mix the previously measured amount of medicine first in a small amount of the daily meal for fish, and then mix well with the rest of the food.
Due to the homogeneity of the mixture, it is important to mix in dry conditions. When mixing with pelleted food, a smaller amount of edible oil should be added to improve the adhesion of the drug to the pellet surface.
