General information
1. Trade name of the medicinal product: LAPUSHKA insecticidal shampoo for dogs and cats (LAPUSHKA shampoo insecticidal pro canum et felium).
International nonproprietary name: permethrin.
2. Dosage form: solution for external use.
LAPUSHKA insecticidal shampoo for dogs and cats contains permethrin as an active ingredient - 0.4%, and as excipients: sodium laureth sulfate, sodium chloride, alkylamidopropyl betaine, diethanolamide (DEA) of coconut oil fatty acids, glycerin, low molecular weight polyethylene glycol (PEG-400 ), pine chlorophyll-carotene paste (CCP), preservative, “Orange” fragrance, purified water.
3. The drug is a homogeneous thick gel-like mass without foreign impurities, from greenish-yellow to yellowish-green. Opalescence is allowed.
The shelf life of the medicinal product (including after the first opening) subject to storage conditions is 12 months from the date of issue.
It is prohibited to use the drug LAPUSHKA insecticidal shampoo for dogs and cats after the expiration date.
4. The drug LAPUSHKA insecticidal shampoo for dogs and cats is produced in the form of a solution for external use, packaged in 220 ml polymer bottles (consumer packaging) of appropriate capacity, sealed with polymer screw caps. The drug in consumer packaging, together with instructions for use, is packaged in transport packaging - corrugated cardboard boxes. It is allowed to use other packaging materials of similar quality, approved for use in the prescribed manner for packaging medicines.
5. LAPUSHKA insecticidal shampoo for dogs and cats is stored in the manufacturer’s sealed packaging, separate from food and feed, in a place protected from direct sunlight at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.
Transportation is allowed at temperatures down to minus 20°C.
6. LAPUSHKA insecticidal shampoo for dogs and cats should be stored in places inaccessible to children.
7. Unused medicinal product is disposed of in accordance with legal requirements.
8. Dispensing conditions: without a veterinarian's prescription.
Pharmacological (biological) properties
9. The drug LAPUSHKA insecticidal shampoo for dogs and cats belongs to the group of insecticidal drugs.
10. The synthetic pyrethroid permethrin included in the drug has a contact insecticidal effect against the imaginal and larval phases of development of fleas, lice and lice that parasitize dogs and cats. The mechanism of its action is to block the transmission of nerve impulses, which causes impaired coordination of movement, paralysis and death of ectoparasites.
LAPUSHKA insecticidal shampoo for dogs and cats, in terms of the degree of impact on the body, belongs to low-hazardous substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), when applied to the skin in recommended doses, it does not have a skin-resorptive, locally irritating or sensitizing effect, if it comes into contact with mucous membranes causes mild irritation.
The drug is toxic to fish and bees.
Application procedure
11.LAPUSHKA insecticidal shampoo for dogs and cats is used to destroy pathogens of entomosis (fleas, lice and lice) in dogs and cats.
12. A contraindication for the use of the drug is individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Treatment of animals with infectious diseases and convalescent animals is not carried out.
13. People with hypersensitivity to shampoo components should avoid direct contact with LAPUSHKA insecticidal shampoo for dogs and cats. Treatment of animals with LAPUSHKA insecticidal shampoo for dogs and cats should be carried out observing the general rules of personal hygiene and safety precautions provided for when working with medicines, and using rubber gloves. Smoking, drinking and eating are prohibited during work. After finishing work, wash your hands with warm water and soap. Empty medicinal product packaging must not be used for household purposes; it must be disposed of with household waste. If LAPUSH insecticidal shampoo for dogs and cats comes into contact with the skin and mucous membranes, they must be rinsed with plenty of water. If allergic reactions occur or if the drug accidentally enters the human body, you should immediately contact a medical facility (have instructions for veterinary use of the drug or label with you).
14. Use in animals during pregnancy and lactation, as well as in animals under 2 months of age is prohibited.
15. The drug is used externally at the rate of 0.5-1.0 ml per 1 kg body weight animal (depending on the type of coat). Before treatment, the animal’s skin and hair are generously moistened with warm water, and then the drug is applied, evenly distributing it over the entire surface of the body, lightly rubbed until foam forms, avoiding contact with the eyes and mucous membranes and preventing the animal from licking the drug. After 7-10 minutes, the shampoo is thoroughly washed off with running warm water, the coat is dried and combed with a comb.
Repeated treatments are carried out according to entomological indications, but not more than once every 10 days.
To prevent re-infection with fleas, lice and lice, animals should be replaced with bedding or treated with shampoo diluted 1:2 with water at a consumption rate of 10 ml per 1 m2. For 3 days, do not allow the animal to come into contact with the treated bedding, and before the next use, wash it with detergent.
16. When using the drug in accordance with these instructions, no side effects or complications are observed.
17. In case of an overdose, the animal may experience excessive salivation, muscle tremors, and vomiting. In case of overdose, increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug and the appearance of complications, the drug is thoroughly washed off with water and, if necessary, the animal is prescribed antihistamines and symptomatic therapy.
18. LAPUSHKA insecticidal shampoo for dogs and cats should not be used simultaneously with other insectoacaricidal preparations.
19. The specific effects of the drug upon first administration or upon its withdrawal have not been established.
20. LAPUSHKA insecticidal shampoo for dogs and cats is used once; It is possible to re-use the drug, but not more than once every 10 days.
21. LAPUSHKA insecticidal shampoo for dogs and cats is not intended for use by productive animals.
